Christian Clare Robertson is an Australian painter who lives and works in the Northern Territory.  Her work deals predominantly with dramatic landscapes, The underlying theme of fear and beauty simultaneously attracts and cautions the viewer.  Most of her better known works are large, at over two metres, this being the scale at which the viewer becomes immersed in the powerful illusion they generate.  There is often a documentary aspect to these paintings, which deal with extremes, whether it be of geological phenomena or weather conditions.

However, some recent peripheral works are tiny and intimate.  They require a totally different approach and are refreshing to do.  These tend to be playful and autobiographical in nature, and are usually abstract.
